Give The Girls Their Flowers: Brittany Ortiz
TV, Film, and Podcast Producer| Storyteller | Soft Power in Motion
You can’t say yes to everything and it’s ok if people get mad at that.
For Brittany Ortiz, storytelling isn’t just what she does—it’s who she is. Whether she’s behind the scenes shaping podcasts or producing powerful on-screen moments, she’s in her element when she’s creating space for voices that matter.
Her work may happen off-camera, but the impact is felt center stage. As someone who’s learned to set boundaries, honor her energy, and give herself second chances, Brittany reminds us that growth doesn’t always look linear—but it’s always valid.
In this feature, Brittany reflects on identity, boundaries, healing through mistakes, and why her New York strolls in a cute outfit are non-negotiable.
Let’s get into it.
I hate dry skin.

I hate dry skin. 〰️
Q: What’s a song that instantly makes you feel like that girl?
Britt: “Reckless and Sweet by Amaarae”
Q: What’s your go-to “romanticize your life” activity?
Britt: “Dilly-dallying in the city with a cute outfit on. Nothing like a weekend stroll going in and out of shops with headphones.”
Work life balance... to sum it up, it doesn’t exist.
Q: If your younger self saw you today, what’s the first thing she’d say? Would she gag?
Britt: “Girllll you left Miami for New York?!?! You’re killing it though.”
Q: What’s something people assume about you that’s totally wrong?
Britt: “That I speak Spanish. I’m 3rd generation Cuban and we only spoke English growing up. I’ve spent a lot of time being ashamed that I’m a yo no hables kid. Felt like the Latin community doesn’t accept me. Working on that feeling. Anyone want to teach me?”
Q: What’s a small luxury you refuse to live without?
Britt: “My exfoliation and moisturizer routine. I love feeling like a glazed donut after the shower. I hate dry skin.”
Q: Who in your life has truly given you your flowers (figuratively or literally)?
Britt: “My parents. They were young when they had me and broke many generational curses with my sister and I. I feel indebted to them. But not in a bad way , in the way that I want to give them the world x100 and all the love they poured into me. My dads fav thing to say is no matter what I do in life he is always proud of me. He always says do whatever makes you the happiest. My mother has the most insane work ethic, I inherited that. My 2025 goal is to take them all on a overdue family vacation to Croatia to see my moms family.”
Q: What’s a lesson you learned the hard way, but you’re grateful for?
Britt: “You can’t say yes to everything and it’s ok if people get mad at that. I’ve had people ask to be my mentee when I didn’t have the capacity to even mentor myself! I should’ve been honest upfront and not overextended myself too early.”
Q: What’s one piece of advice you’d give to someone who doubted you?
Britt: “How you judge others is often a projection so watch your words.”
Q: What’s a quote or mantra you think is a total scam?
Britt: “Work life balance. Emma Grede has a great clip about this- to sum it up , it doesn’t exist. I want to produce her on Angie Martinez IRL podcast.”
How you judge others is often a projection so watch your words.
Q: What’s a fictional character (from a book, TV, or film) you know you’d be besties with?
Britt: “When I was little Junie B Jones she was reckless but smart. Now - Jessica Pearson from Suits. Boss ass bitch with a killer wardrobe”
Q:If you could give yourself flowers for something you’ve done lately, what would it be?
Britt: “Forgiving myself for my mistakes. I shot a podcast and the audio was botched. I didn’t know until the end of the 2 hour interview. We had to reshoot the whole thing. I’m really hard on myself and it felt like a rookie mistake. The note on the flowers would be “ people have come back from far worse mistakes. You are worthy of a second chance so give it to yourself!”
You are worthy of a second chance so give it to urself!
Brittany is the kind of woman who’s always learning, always growing, and never afraid to check herself with love. She knows what it’s like to take on too much too soon and now she’s committed to moving with more intention, compassion, and clarity.
Whether she’s producing for some of your favorite platforms or simply wandering the city in a cute outfit, Brittany moves with the kind of presence that reminds you: you don’t have to be perfect to be powerful—you just have to keep going.
